Governor Kelly Armstrong has proclaimed October 9, 2026, as First Nations Day and November 2026 as Native American Heritage Month in North Dakota.
The proclamation recognizes the contributions of Native American citizens, Tribal governments, colleges, and businesses to North Dakota’s history, culture, communities, and economy. It also encourages continued cooperation between Tribal Nations and the State of North Dakota.
